The programme introduces trainees to this evolving world. They learn what computers are, and about their language and structure. They learn about data, the internet and all the applications and tasks carried out with computers. The programme also presents in detail the processes and techniques of website design, not only in theory but also in practice, with exercises and applications. Technology keeps evolving, and this subject is the foundation for anyone who wants not only to follow developments but to be part of them.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Program Purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On completing the programme, participants can apply the techniques needed to research, collect, store, process and distribute information with the help of computer systems. They will also be able to apply website design methods not only from a technical but also from a visual perspective, helping to create a result that is sound, both visually and aesthetically. The end goal is for participants to gain the knowledge needed to become effective coordinators in computer management and use and in website design.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Learning results<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On completing the training, participants will become familiar with the commands of basic and advanced computer applications, helping them with settings, customisation, folder hierarchy and printing. They will know the procedures for word processing, data entry and editing, and drawing. They will be able to use a computer to process data, enter and process numerical data, and design and present data. They will also know how to organise the processing of text and images. Finally, they will be able to use a computer to handle e-mail, enter and process data and contacts online, and use the various forms of messaging to make their everyday and working life easier.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Units<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Unit 1 &#8211; Introduction to Computing <\/p>\n<p>The aim of this unit is for participants to learn about the structure, hardware and software of a computer. By understanding what information technology is, they will be able to make use of its capabilities, seeing it as a new science. Participants thus become familiar with technology and IT, building their foundations in digital technology and its applications, while also becoming aware of the social effects and influence of the digital revolution on our daily lives, and of its future development and influence.<\/p>\n<p>Asynchronous Learning<br \/>\nDuration (training hours): 19<\/p>\n<p> Unit 2 &#8211; Computer Hardware and Networks <\/p>\n<p>The aim is to provide fundamental, introductory knowledge of IT, so that participants not only get to know and understand the structure of computers and networks, but also the types of networks and how the internet works, as well as communication and security protocols in IT.<\/p>\n<p>In-person Learning<br \/>\nDuration (training hours): 36<\/p>\n<p> Unit 3 &#8211; Introduction to Programming <\/p>\n<p>In this unit, participants will learn the concept of a program, the history of programming languages and types of programming, and the techniques used to create programs correctly. They will understand the techniques of hierarchical program design and modular programming, and the process followed from writing a program to its final execution by the computer and obtaining the results.<\/p>\n<p>Asynchronous Learning<br \/>\nDuration (training hours): 15<\/p>\n<p> Unit 4 &#8211; Operating Systems and Information Systems <\/p>\n<p>The aim of the unit is to introduce participants to basic topics in operating system architecture, in particular familiarising them with concepts such as processes, memory management etc. and the characteristics of a multi-user system, to the architecture of the most popular operating systems, and to the concept and importance of information systems.<\/p>\n<p>Synchronous Learning<br \/>\nDuration (training hours): 24<\/p>\n<p> Unit 5 &#8211; Database Theory <\/p>\n<p>The aim of this unit is to learn how our data is organised, the database models, and how a Database Management System (DBMS) works. We will learn how to design a database using the entity-relationship model and will introduce Structured Query Language (SQL).<\/p>\n<p>Asynchronous Learning<br \/>\nDuration of training hours: 20<\/p>\n<p> Unit 6 &#8211; Website Design and Development  <\/p>\n<p>The aim of this unit is to learn about and analyse what the World Wide Web is, and how we can develop and build websites.<\/p>\n<p>In-person Learning<br \/>\nDuration (training hours): 38<\/p>\n<p> Unit 7 &#8211; Web Application Design and Development <\/p>\n<p>The aim of this training unit is to learn about the environment and architecture of an application, what object-oriented programming in Java is, what the development phases of an application are, and how we develop applications for Android.<\/p>\n<p>Synchronous Learning<br \/>\nDuration (training hours): 26<\/p>\n<p> Unit 8 &#8211; Connecting Applications to Databases <\/p>\n<p>The aim of this unit is to get to know the technologies we use to manage our data, how our applications connect to a relational database, and how web applications connect to a relational database using PHP.<\/p>\n<p>Synchronous Learning<br
