Brief description of the Training Program
The demands of a modern business on a secretarial support officer are so many and so varied that they turn the person in this position into a multi-tool. Program Purpose
The aim of the training programme is to develop specialised, modern staff with the technical and business skills required to provide comprehensive secretarial support to a business, an organisation or an executive office. Participants will acquire all the knowledge needed for the multi-level professional activity of a secretarial support officer and will be able to handle the demanding and multifaceted role of secretarial support officer in any business, large or small.

The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the communication model and all the aspects that shape effective communication. They will also understand the importance of public relations for a department or directorate of a business and how an effective PR programme can be implemented. In addition, they will appreciate the great importance of customer service for the healthy and sustainable operation of an organisation.

Unit 2 – Use of Computer Applications
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is to introduce trainees to the basic functions of a word-processing program and text print formatting, and to the basic functions of spreadsheets, data processing and worksheet print formatting. They should also become familiar with using computer presentations in everyday and professional life. Finally, they will understand internet terminology and services, the main functions of the Internet and the use of email.

Unit 3 – Rules of Conduct and Appearance
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the principles and rules governing professional appearance and behaviour. Trainees will appreciate the need for courteous and appropriate behaviour, which safeguards both good relations with colleagues and customers and their progress within the company itself.

Unit 4 – Business Office Organisation and Management
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the concept of organisation and the basic principles of planning and design in a modern business office. They will also understand organisational techniques and the purpose of an organisation chart in a company, a directorate or a department. In addition, they will know the role and duties of a secretarial support officer and how to use the electronic tools that characterise today's digital office.

Unit 5 – Document and Business Correspondence Management
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the concept of personal data and the European General Data Protection Regulation. They should also know the types of documents and business correspondence, and how to write texts effectively. In addition, they will understand the importance of classifying and grading documents, and the use of electronic applications for commercial management and payroll.

Unit 6 – Office Equipment Management
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the types and use of office equipment in a modern business. They will also understand the terminology, operation and applications of local area networks. In addition, they will understand the importance of teleconferencing and how it is conducted.

Unit 7 – Enterprise Resource Management Information Systems
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the role of a Management Information System and how to use the information it provides for the efficient and effective management of a business. They will also understand how decision-support and business intelligence systems work, the CRM business strategy for maximising a company's revenue and profits by increasing customer satisfaction, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) as a process for managing and integrating the key parts of an organisation into a single system.

Unit 8 – Administrative Support
Purpose objectives of the thematic unit
The aim of this training unit is for participants to understand the important role played by cooperation and by supporting communication between the various departments and directorates of a business. They should also appreciate the importance of properly organising business meetings and conferences, as well as supporting a directorate or an executive office of the business.
