What the programme is
Every business, whatever its sector and number of employees, must have a safety officer. In small Category B and C risk businesses, the duties can be taken on by the employer or an employee, after attending a training programme and receiving a training certificate.
KEK KEPETH, as a certified Lifelong Learning Centre, delivers both programmes, in person:
Category C — 10 hours
low risk, for employers with up to 20 employees

Category B — 35 hours
medium risk, for employers with the required level of knowledge and for employees
130€
The current framework is set by Joint Ministerial Decision 18503/2026 (Government Gazette B’ 3950/30.06.2026).

Employees — 35 hours
- full-time employment in a Category B or C business of up to 20 people
- a technical qualification or a skilled tradesperson licence
- at least 8 years since obtaining the qualification
Please note: the training applies to businesses with up to 20 employees. Larger businesses need a safety officer with the qualifications set by law or an external prevention and protection service (EXYPP).

You attend all the hours
in person — Category C over 2 days, Category B over 7 days, up to 5 hours a day. Attendance must be complete.

You take a multiple-choice test
you pass with at least 80% correct answers.

You receive a training certificate
and take on the duties of safety officer in your business.
Older certificates: employer training certificates for Category B and C issued up to 31/12/2010 remain valid until 31/12/2027.

How much does it cost?
€70 for the Category C programme (10 hours); €130 for Category B (35 hours).
Which category is my business?
It depends on your activity and is set by law. Tell us your business activity code (KAD) and we will tell you which programme applies to you.
I have a certificate from 2010 or earlier. Is it still valid?
Yes, until 31/12/2027. After that you need new training.
My business has more than 20 employees.
Then this training is not enough — you need a safety officer with the qualifications set by law or an EXYPP.
Is it available online?
No. Classes are held in person, in our classrooms.
