KEK KEPETH, as a Lifelong Learning Centre certified by EOPPEP, delivers training programmes for employers and employees to qualify as Health and Safety Officers in businesses of category B and C.
Under the legislation in force (Circular 2025) on the health and safety of workers, in all businesses, regardless of sector and number of employees, the employer is obliged to provide employees with Protection and Prevention Services, i.e. health and safety officer services. Current legislation allows employers to be trained so that they can act as the Health and Safety Officer for their own business, by obtaining the Health and Safety Officer training certificate. This certificate is now an essential requirement for every business that wishes to have its staff lists stamped by the Labour Inspectorate.
Training certificates for employers of category B and C businesses issued up to 31 December 2010 will remain valid until 31 December 2026.
Category C covers businesses with low-risk activities.
Who they are for
For EMPLOYERS of any education level who wish to take on the duties of health and safety officer in their own business themselves and employ up to 49 staff.
Duration The duration of the program is ten (10) hours.

Category B covers businesses with medium-risk activities.
Who they are for
For EMPLOYERS whose required education level depends on the number of employees. Specifically:
- Up to 3 people (any one of the following) 10 years of proven business operation (chamber of commerce certificate or registration of the professional activity with the tax office) or a licence to practise as a skilled tradesperson in the same field as the business's activity
- Up to 6 people (any one of the following) Technical specialisation diploma (certification diploma where certification is required) from: A technical vocational school or An Institute of Vocational Training (IEK) or A recognised technical vocational school or A Technical Vocational Lyceum school-leaving certificate (technical specialisation
EMPLOYEES who must be employed full-time in the business, with at least 8 years having passed since they obtained their qualification. They must hold a technical specialisation diploma (certification diploma where certification is required) from:
- A technical vocational school or An Institute of Vocational Training (IEK) or A recognised technical vocational school or A Technical Vocational Lyceum school-leaving certificate (technical specialisation) or A licence to practise as a skilled tradesperson
