Strengthening the establishment and operation of new tourism small and medium enterprises – Subsidy up to 50%

Strengthening entrepreneurship in the tourism sector, through the creation of new very small, small and medium-sized tourism businesses

Target Audience

Very Small, Small and Medium Enterprises that will be active in the Tourism sector and belong to the following categories:

  • Beneficiary Category A: Businesses that will be established from the date of issue of the action announcement and will have the KAD of the investment until the first disbursement of the grant.
  • Category of Beneficiaries B: Tourist Accommodations that have been established and have acquired, by the date of issue of the notice of the action, at least one of the eligible KAD 55 and/or KAD: 41.20.20.01, 41.20.20.02, do not have an operating license (brand), and the VAT number of the company has not developed any economic activity.

Submission period

from 18/12/2017 to 15/05/2018

The potential beneficiaries must, when submitting the electronic funding application, simultaneously submit to the State Aid Information System (www.ependyseis.gr/mis) and Electronic Application File. This file will include the required supporting documents for the submission/inclusion of Annex I in a non-editable electronic file format (e.g. pdf file).

 

Amount of subsidy

25,000 euros to 400,000 euros. 45% of eligible costs is financed. In the case of hiring new staff for at least 0.2 EME of salaried work, the funding rate amounts to 50%.

Basic conditions for participation

Beneficiaries should:

  • to present, when submitting the financing application, evidence of securing the Private Participation in a percentage of at least 60% of the proposed (subsidized) budget of the Investment Plan
  • to invest in a single Region
  • to commit that they operate or that they will operate legally by obtaining the appropriate operating license until the completion of the investment
  • to submit one investment proposal per VAT number.

Eligible business categories

  • Main hotel accommodations: 3 star and above category hotels with a capacity of 10 to 50 beds, hotel tourist accommodation within traditional buildings, organized tourist camps (camping) of 3 stars and above, youth hostels
  • Non-main hotel accommodation: self-catering accommodation – tourist furnished houses with a minimum number of 3 dwellings, furnished rooms for rent – apartments of 3 keys or more and a minimum capacity of 10 beds
  • Tourist offices of various activities
  • Alternative forms of tourism: sports tourism, marine tourism, rural tourism, other special-alternative forms of tourism, such as entertainment and theme parks, etc.
  • Other business activities in the field of tourism.

Marking: It is not possible to set up a new company (TIN) with a partner of the previous company or its partners/shareholders for the exploitation of the same accommodation/business brand.

What is funded

Subsidized costs

  • Buildings, other facilities and surrounding area
  • Machinery, installations and equipment for environmental protection and energy and water saving
  • Means of transport
  • Certification of quality assurance systems, environmental management
  • Display/Promotion – Participation in Exhibitions
  • Technical engineering studies and tax and legal consultancy services
  • Software and software services
  • Drafting and monitoring the implementation of an Investment Plan.

Expenditures are eligible from the date of publication of the call.

  • Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Central Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, Western Greece: 45,000,000 euros
  • Western Macedonia, Ionian Islands, Peloponnese, North Aegean, Crete: 40,000,000 euros
  • Attica: 15,000,000 euros
  • Central Greece: 5,000,000 euros
  • South Aegean: 15,000,000 euros
