Promoting self-employment through the financial support of business initiatives of 10,000 unemployed people aged 18-66
It starts today, Wednesday (10/07), the application process to the OAED for the subsidy program, up to 12,000 euros, to unemployed people who want to develop business activity.
The subsidy program concerns 10,000 unemployed -aged from 18 to 66 years old- and aims to promote self-employment.
Beneficiaries
Beneficiaries should:
- Be of age 18-66 years
- To be registered unemployed in the OAED registers and have benefited from the personalized intervention process
- To submit affiliation application in the program with their business plan
- To proceed to start of activity at the competent DOU after the publication of the subsidy tender in the Official Gazette
The steps to enroll in the program
Those interested in joining the program can to submit the application together with the business plan within 12 months from the start of the activity.
Alternatively, they can to apply for membership in the grant program together with the business plan, before starting the activity at DOU, on the condition that they will start activity, no later than within two months from the notification of the positive evaluation (pre-approval) of their application-business plan by the Evaluation Committee.
According to the OAED, the potential beneficiaries of the subsidy, who have stopped their previous activity by 31 December 2011, must have paid or settled any due insurance contributions or any debts due to any reason to the Unified Social Security Agency (EFKA) and to be aware of the terms of the regulation.
Those who owe insurance contributions related to previous business activity and have not been subject to a regulatory regime, obtain insurance information as defined in article 40 of Law 4578/2018, which they present after joining the program and remain informed throughout the duration of the plan, as long as they are consistent with their current insurance obligations.
The beneficiaries of the program
In the relevant notice of the OAED, it is emphasized that the total number of 10,000 potentially benefiting unemployed persons of the program is distributed by age, as follows:
- 18-29 years old: 2,000 people
- 30-66 years: 8,000 people
The OAED clarifies that the administrator of the Organization may by his/her decision a) suspend, b) extend, c) expire the deadlines for submitting electronic funding applications for inclusion in the program by age group, in case of non-compliance to cover the positions that were initially announced and d) to redistribute the announced positions by age group.
The duration of the grant
Beneficiaries will join the program either as individual entrepreneurs or as members of OE, EPE, IKE and Employees' Cooperative.
THE duration of the grant is set at 12 months and the beneficiaries commit to maintaining their business for three months, after the end of the program.
The grant amount is structured as follows:
- As 12,000 euros to individual entrepreneurs or members of companies with a percentage in the company capital above 51%.
- As 9,000 euros to members of companies holding ½ of the company capital.
- As 8,000 euros to members of companies holding 1/3 of the company capital.
The subsidy amount will be paid in three installments. Applications are submitted online on the Organization's website (oaed.gr). The terms and conditions of participation are described in more detail in the relevant Public Invitation, which is posted on the OAED website.
