Subsidy of Existing Businesses of Gyms, Playgrounds

The Action concerns the support, in the form of a grant, of businesses active in the provision of gymnasium and playground services, which have been affected by the pandemic of the COVID-19 disease, as their operation has been suspended throughout the duration of the general restrictive measures in the country .

The aim of the Action is to cover, in the form of support for future operating costs (which include employment costs, but also depreciation of fixed equipment), part of the required liquidity for the re-start of the specific activities, as well as to provide an incentive for maintaining the strengthened activities in the near future, thus indirectly supporting the preservation of jobs.

Action Budget

THE budget of the Action is 16 million euros for all regions of the country.

The Action is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) of the European Union and by national resources.

Applications and Subsidy

Until 18,000 euros per beneficiary company.

The grant per beneficiary company will be granted as a lump sum to cover future operating costs.

The lump sum applies to 25% of the 2019 annual operating costs and is attributed to the beneficiary company upon joining the Action, provided that will maintain its business activity for a period of 6 months from its funding decision.

Beneficiaries of the Action

Very Small, Small and Medium Enterprises providing gym and playground services that maintain a licensed professional seat (in a separate area of their home), regardless of their legal form.

The eligible CAD, in which the potentially benefiting companies should be active (main KAD or KAD with the largest revenues according to the tax form E3 of the year 2019) are:

  • 93.13.10.01 Gym services for special fitness professionals (aerobics, pilates, yoga, etc.)
  • 93.13.10.02 Gym services instrumental or non-gym
  • 93.11.10.04 Kart track services
  • 93.29.19.05 Playground services

Basic Conditions of Participation

Businesses should, among other things, satisfy the following conditions:

  • To have started work at the competent DOU before 1/1/2020.
  • To have as the main CAO or CAO with the largest income, according to the tax form E3 of the year 2019, one of the eligible CAOs of the Invitation. 
  • The total sum of the amounts in codes 581, 585 and 587 of the tax form E3 of the year 2019 must be greater than or equal to 4,000 euros. For businesses established within the year 2019, this limitation is applied to the corresponding reduced sum of the amounts of codes 581, 585 and 587 of the tax form E3 of the year 2019,
  • The total sum of the amounts in codes 581, 585 and 587 of the tax form E3 of the year 2019 must be greater than or equal to 4,000 euros.
  • To keep simple or double written books of Law 4308/2014.
  • To submit one financing application per VAT number.

Businesses that have entered into franchise agreements, in the capacity of franchisor or franchisee, declare this fact in the funding application and are checked during the verification stage as to whether they are related businesses, in order to determine the aid which are counted to control the accumulation of de minimis aid.

Funding applications are evaluated using the direct process (FiFo) method.

Subsidized Expenses

Indicative operational costs that are eligible for the Action, in the context of applying a simplified cost option and lump sum calculation, can be the following:

1. Rents of business premises.
2. Costs of energy, fixed and mobile business telephony, water supply, heating, etc.
3. Expenses for third party fees (legal, consulting, accounting support, etc.)
4. Promotion and networking expenses (design and printing of advertising forms, posters, advertising listings, expenses for participation in professional exhibitions, company website, etc.).
5. Costs of supply of consumables.
6. Depreciation of fixed equipment (tangible and intangible).
7. Salary costs of company personnel.

The public funding paid in the form of a lump sum is intended to cover future eligible operating costs for a period of six (6) months from the date of incorporation of the business.
