Strengthening existing very small, small and medium-sized enterprises in the Region of Thessaly for the implementation of modernization investments through technological and non-technological upgrading, with the use of supporting technologies or innovation, with the aim of improving productivity, quality and innovation at the enterprise level. Investments may concern:

  • in the reorientation of production towards branches and products of higher added value that will contribute to strengthening the extroversion of businesses and the conclusion of international partnerships
  • in the production of innovative products to improve their competitiveness
  • in the development of products and services as a priority in areas of smart expertise
  • in supporting and increasing production investments with an emphasis on quality upgrading, standardization and certification of products
  • in the development of new products and services.

Beneficiaries of the Action

Production enterprises, which operate exclusively with one of the following forms of business of a corporate / commercial nature: Public Company, Limited Liability Company, Limited Partnership, Limited Partnership, IKE, sole proprietorship, Cooperative, Social Cooperative Enterprise of Law 4019/2011 (KOINSEP ), Recreational Vessel Shipping Company (NEPA).

in accordance with Annex VIII which includes all the CSIs that are eligible for this call and where the CSIs that correspond to an economic sector of RIS3, as well as those that are outside RIS3, are specifically noted.

Basic Conditions of Participation

The basic conditions for the participation of businesses are the following:

  • The company has the status of a Small and Medium Enterprise.
  • The proposal falls under the Activity Code Numbers (KAD), as detailed in the Appendix "Table of Eligible KAD" of the Invitation.
  • The proposed investment project is located exclusively in the Region of Thessaly.
  • The existing business uses a double-entry or single-entry accounting system (keeps category B or C books) and, by 31 December 2018, has closed at least three financial years.
  • The company's private participation in the investment plan does not exceed per year 50% of its average turnover for the last three years.
  • The business holds – as the case may be – the required valid operating licence, or the application for its issue or renewal submitted to the competent authority, for the activity/activities in which it operates.
  • The company submits a unique investment plan per VAT number.
  • The specific investment plan or part of it as well as the costs it includes have not been financed, included and will not be submitted for financing approval to another program financed by national or community resources.
  • The business is not in bankruptcy, liquidation or receivership.
  • Not to be problematic businesses.
  • The company is not part of an already organized uniform network of product distribution or service provision which exploits, following relevant contracts, licenses to exploit intellectual property rights, which usually concern trademarks or distinctive titles and know-how for the use and distribution of goods or services (e.g. franchising, shop in shop, agency network).
  • The investment project (physical and financial object) must not have been completed before the date of submission of the proposal.

13 July 2018 is set as the start time for expenditure eligibility.

Time of Implementation of Investment Plans

Until twenty-four (24) months from the date of issuance of the Incorporation Decision.
